Unpopular OpinionI've watched it play out in warehouses Ive worked at. Hire or promote for the checklist instead of who can actually move freight without wrecking stuff or getting hurt. Then everyone acts shocked when quality tanks and people quit or get hurt. Merit used to mean something141
Free SpeechEvery time they bump it, small stores cut hours or stop hiring. Then everyone acts surprised when those same people can't get a job. Not to mention it directly causes inflation when they have to raise prices to pay their employees more.74
Unpopular OpinionDeadbeats show up late or half ass the job and still keep their spot cause the union backs them. Real hard workers end up carrying the load. Companies get stuck and prices skyrocket for everyday people. Fire the bums and things would run smoother.142
AskMakeNoLawRestaurants and stores would have to accept physical cash.63
AskMakeNoLawAnd where would you draw the line between a landlord and an investment company?45
It's hard to believe no Republican states have abolished it yet

States just make too much. If Florida goes that route they'd have to add an income tax. They have to collect money somehow

Well this will be a popular opinion with conservatives which is most of this site. But I think rich people should pay their fair share

Yeah generally unpopular though imo

The rich already pay their fair share. The top 5% pay 60% of the taxes. It's enough, let us own something we worked for.
