These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Make No Law, including https://makenolaw.com, our applications, and related services. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service is not for children under 13. You may not use the service if you are under 13 or if applicable law bars you from using it.
Some areas of the service may contain mature content. "NSFW" means content that may include pornographic, sexually explicit, profane, or otherwise graphic material. "NSFL" means content that may include highly disturbing, shocking, or graphic content. NSFW and NSFL content is hidden by default, may only be enabled by users who are at least 18 years old, and may be subject to additional safeguards. We may require age verification, including through a third-party identity or age-verification provider, before allowing access to some mature content or related features.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide to us and for activity that occurs through your account. You must keep your login credentials confidential and must not share your account, impersonate another person, or attempt to access accounts or areas of the service you are not authorized to use.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to any part of the service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason permitted by law.
The community rules and participation guidelines available at /rules are incorporated into these Terms. Those rules may be updated at any time. They supplement, but do not limit, our separate right to remove content, restrict accounts, or take other action under these Terms.
You may not use the service to do any of the following:
We may investigate conduct and content on or off the service, and we may take action if we believe it is necessary for safety, legal compliance, platform integrity, security, abuse prevention, or business or reputational protection. This may include removing or hiding content, restricting distribution, disabling features, preserving evidence, issuing warnings, suspending accounts, permanently banning accounts, blocking access, or referring matters to law enforcement or other third parties.
We may take enforcement action even if conduct is not expressly listed in /rules or another written policy, and even if the conduct occurs partly or entirely off-platform. Nothing in these Terms requires us to give notice, explain a decision, restore content, or offer an appeal.
You retain ownership of content you submit, post, upload, display, or otherwise make available through the service. You represent and warrant that you have all rights needed to provide that content and to grant the licenses in these Terms.
By submitting content, you grant Make No Law a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, copy, cache, adapt, modify, translate, publish, distribute, prepare derivative works from, publicly perform, publicly display, analyze, and otherwise use that content in any media and by any means now known or later developed for the operation, improvement, promotion, moderation, security, backup, and enforcement of the service.
This license survives account closure and content removal to the extent necessary for archived copies, backups, legal compliance, abuse prevention, enforcement, and operation of the service. We may remove or refuse to display your content at any time, with or without notice.
"Component" content may be shown with an MIT license or another open-source notice where we choose to do so. Any displayed license notice applies according to its terms to the relevant version or material. We reserve the right to change our component licensing framework in the future, including for future submissions, future versions, and how licenses are presented on the service.
If you believe content on the service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@makenolaw.com with the subject line "DMCA" and include: your contact information; identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the service; a good-faith statement; a statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act; and your physical or electronic signature.
We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers when appropriate.
The service may include links, embeds, integrations, login providers, or other third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, policies, or practices, and your use of them may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Make No Law disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, or accuracy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Make No Law and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Make No Law and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Changes become effective when posted unless we state otherwise. By continuing to use the service after revised Terms are posted, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. We may assign or transfer these Terms and our rights under them. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Make No Law regarding the service and supersede prior agreements or understandings relating to the same subject matter.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms and any dispute related to the service will be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Make No Law operates, without regard to conflict of laws rules. You agree that disputes may be resolved in any court of competent jurisdiction selected by Make No Law, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
