To give a more detailed answer, ChatGPT is an AI assistant made by a company named OpenAI that you can chat with as if it were a person. It can answer questions, explain topics, brainstorm ideas, and more. You just type a question or message, and it replies. It uses complex machine learning structures inspired by the brain which are trained on huge sets of data. So it is not preprogrammed with responses, but rather it comes up with them on the fly by determining the best next word it should use as it goes.
"Chat GBT" is just misspelling of ChatGPT.
It has many other competitors now like Grok by SpaceXAI, Gemini by Google, and Claude by Anthropic.
Fun fact, Elon actually invested in OpenAI starting in 2015, long before ChatGPT was launched. It was a non profit back then so his investments were technically donations. They had a falling out in 2018. He now owns Grok.
