Freeze the rent and nobody bothers fixing the place. 5 years later and all the appliances are breaking, paint is peeling off, and you get mold infestations.
Everyone is equal, but equally shitty.

Unpopular OpinionWomen struggle with logical decisions, and it is tearing the country apart. They need strong men to tell them what to do. Tell women no, and every single problem in the US would go away. Gay beta liberal men are the cause of every problem.92

Unpopular OpinionIts terrible pay for a reason. It should motivate you to work harder, not beg for the government to raise your wage. If youre 28 still bagging fries and mad about rent thats on you.192
Unpopular OpinionI'm a bartender, and I see people come in stressed or fake smiling then leave after a few drinks and some bad decisions looking lighter. Sitting in a quiet room talking about your childhood for an hour just keeps you stuck in your head. Go dance, talk shit with strangers, make dumb choices. NOT saying never get help but most folks just need to get out of their apartment and stop treating every feeling like a crisis.13

Non rent controlled apartments get mold and broken stoves too. Giving the government more power here will actually fix the problem.

What the fuck are you talking about? Processes for repair already exist for mold and broken utilities. Rent control doesn't magically make inspectors competent, it just gives landlords fewer reasons to put money into the unit.

A process existing on paper doesn't mean it works. It can take months to repair things, and they'll ignore the problem if they would lose money on it.

There are already protections. Acting like we need communism to fix a dryer is fucking delusional

Literally who said communism?

You're admitting landlords only care about the money, not the people.
