Spend four years and pile on debt just to end up in some dead end office or serving coffee. Learn a real trade or run a machine instead. Youre earning decent money by 22 with zero loans hanging over you. Half those degrees teach nothing you can actually use on the job.

Nobody hands an 18 year old a $100k business loan with no plan but they'll finance four years of "do lots of drugs and find yourself".

The scam is pretending every degree has the same value. Before a kid signs anything the school should show total cost, graduation rate, and pay for that exact major. A lot of programs wouldn't survive that.

Make colleges cover part of every defaulted student loan. They collect up front while the student and taxpayer carry all the risk.

High schools helped create this mess. They gutted shop classes and treated college acceptance like the only measure of success. Plenty of kids never even get a chance to find out they're good with tools or machines.

Trades get oversold too. Some pay great. Some chew up your body for mediocre money and layoffs every time the company sneezes. Nurses, engineer, teachers need college. Tuition is the part that's gone crazy.
