Who could get the NBA's streaming hub -- and how much it may cost
SportsBusinessJournalWho could get the NBA's streaming hub -- and how much it may cost The NBA media rights deal 2.0 is all about local broadcasts and the cha-ching that could come with it. Sources tell SBJ that the NBA and YouTube remain in advanced talks about a 2027-28 aggregated hub for between 20-to-25 teams — and eventually 29 — for a potential price tag north of $1B. www.sportsbusinessjournal.com

The NBA and YouTube are negotiating a deal on a local streaming hub for next season. It could start with 20 to 25 teams and eventually reach 29.

Putting local games in one app would be nice. But they would still be geofenced, while national games and League Pass stay separate. So we're getting closer to one place to watch basketball. And by one place I mean three places instead of six.

We spent a decade killing the cable bundle so every app could slowly rebuild the cable bundle.

29 teams is a funny way to say no one cares about Canada

Cant wait for premium to somehow not include YouTube NBA. The naming will be a fun little scam.

Opening youtube to watch the game and getting the final score spoiled by six reaction thumbnails first. The future is here 😍

If I can pay one reasonable price and actually watch my local team, great. You know that will never happen cause the NBA doesn't make enough then.

Youtube chat under a random Tuesday Hornets game is gonna need federal supervision

I need the broadcast crew moderating it live. "Great defensive possession there, and Kevin from Ohio has been arrested for threatening to kill the coach".

one missed free throw and the chat's instantly 400 n words plus three crypto scams 😂
