Apparently teams can now try a field goal right after a fair catch. The kick comes from where the ball was caught and the defense has to stand 10 yards back.
Who asked for this rule? Some coach is absolutely going to try it from 68 yards before halftime, miss by 20 yards, then spend the postgame explaining how the numbers said it was smart.

No rush means they can drive the kick low as hell too. Some dude with a cannon is def gonna steal 3 points off a bad punt.

Turns out it's already a rule in the NFL. But shit punters in cfb are going to make this a common occurrence

Common until a kick goes short and gives up a 100 yard td return the other way

Punters are gonna start drilling everything out of bounds near midfield. Can't fair catch a ball in the stands.
