The rule should cover electronic monitoring generally, not only products labeled "AI". Otherwise companies can avoid disclosure by calling the same system analytics, security software, workforce optimization etc.

100%. screenshots and message monitoring can grab passwords, medical info, private conversations, all kinds of shit an employer has no business keeping. there should be hard limits on what they can collect too.

also union organizing. disclosure doesn't make it okay for a boss to use message monitoring as a union busting tool.

And required deletion. Shouldn't sit on some random server forever waiting for a breach.

Yes. Employees should also be able to see the reports and dispute them. Software deciding a bathroom break or reading something off-screen means you're slacking is dumb enough without making the whole process secret.

A checkbox that requires you accept surveillance or lose your job isn't meaningful consent. Some monitoring should just be illegal.

Yep. And it should be disclosed before someone accepts the job. Rolling out surveillance software under the table after people are already dependent on the paycheck is pretty damn evil.

Yes. And if it's tracking me after hours then congrats, I'm clocked in. Pay up bitch.
Share
Duh. They should disclose what gets tracked, how the productivity score is calculated and whether it can affect pay, promotion or firing.
